Curriculum & Clubs

Our core curriculum has been designed to combine a rigorous study of English, Math, Science, History, Quran and Arabic with a strong commitment to Islamic practice and belief.

Curriculum

  • Our language arts curriculum exceeds the Common Core State Standards by emphasizing language comprehension and creative writing skills through a careful study of English literature and poetry. This includes an active and engaging approach to vocabulary acquisition and grammar. Our integrated method also allows students to participate in exciting discussions to facilitate the exchange of ideas between young thinkers!

At Al Judiy Academy, we aim to develop lifelong readers and writers who can effectively articulate their ideas and interpret various literary texts. With these skills, we hope our students will become better leaders and thinkers guided by the principles of Islamic tradition.

  • We use the Singapore Math curriculum for all grade levels. Singapore Math has been the leader in developing mastery of mathematical skills and analysis by teaching students through hands-on strategies and visualization in contrast to a heavy reliance on traditional memorization. Singapore Math teaches students strategies to perform mental math. These mental math strategies, which consist of a pictorial approach, are adopted in all lessons, allowing students to solidify their understanding of mathematical concepts.

We aim to support and encourage our students to become mathematical thinkers and improve their number sense and fluency.

  • Our two-part science curriculum combines the NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) and learning through awareness and inquiry-based discovery. This unique curriculum uses visual lessons and guided discovery to develop scientific reasoning and deeper understanding. We adopt the 5E Instructional Model which consists of Engagement, Exploration, Explanation, Elaboration, and Evaluation combined with building an interest in STEM education, allowing students to develop a strong foundation in scientific concepts.

  • Our history program covers fundamental themes of world civilizations, ancient, medieval, and early modern history. Students will cover the significant events and key figures of each period and be exposed to broader themes of culture and society while drawing parallels to Islamic history. This comprehensive survey will provide students with an interactive and engaging introduction to Islamic civilization's central role in shaping the critical patterns of world history. In addition, students will also engage in a comprehensive study of the Sirah of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) based on traditional sources. This course will cover the essential aspects of the Prophet's life through a sound biographical introduction. It will seek to establish correlations between general Islamic ethical principles and specific events from the life of the Prophet (pbuh)and his companions.

  • Our Islamic studies program seeks to provide young students with a foundational introduction to the critical dimensions of Islamic belief, practice, and worldview. The curriculum aims to imbue students with a strong Muslim identity predicated on a sincere love for Allah and His Messenger (pbuh). Students will be introduced to the importance of the five pillars of Islam, stories of the Prophets, principles of Islamic belief, adab, and practical methods to apply these principles in our everyday lives. The curriculum will also expose students to basic rulings of fiqh that will enable young Muslims to perform obligatory prayers and other religious practices necessary for leading a meaningful and theologically sound spiritual life.

  • The Quran program is designed to instill and inspire a meaningful connection with the Book of Allah. Students work daily to develop reading accuracy and fluency while learning the proper pronunciation rules through the Qaidah Nooraniyyah. Emphasis is placed on memorization of the oft recited surahs, encouraging hifdh but also revision methodology that will have a lasting impact as the student progresses.

  • Our Arabic curriculum is designed to cover all fundamental components of a language immersion program. The child is immersed in stories and songs daily at Al Judiy to facilitate comprehension of the applied principles of grammar, phonetics, morphology, and syntax. Arabic instructors converse with students both inside and outside the classroom. Our Arabic-only approach allows the child to build confidence through consistent, practical language application. The division of the curriculum into five levels allows parents and students to keep careful track of their child's progress as they move towards mastery.

  • Our physical education program works to build a student's confidence in fitness skills for a healthier tomorrow. Our P.E. course is offered twice a week for all grades. Structured sports, drills and free play are all included with our certified fitness instructors. Students also participate in an off-campus program called Sienna Ranch, where they are active outdoors, and interacting with nature and animals.
