Sara Kim

Sara Kim converted to Islam in 1997 while in college. A trained civil engineer, she pivoted to education, and has been in this field for 23 years. When the eldest of her seven children was in first grade, she founded a homeschooling cooperative for Muslim families called Ilm Tree, which eventually grew into a non-profit institution educating children from infancy-8th grade. Sara also founded Sienna Ranch, an experiential learning and working farm. In 2018 she traveled overseas where she studied sacred sciences and the Quran, earning her ijaza in tajweed. When she returned to the United States, she co-founded Nuh’s Ark preschool. Sara is a mother of 7 children and grandmother to 2. Her children have attended top universities- UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC Hastings School of Law, and Zaytuna College. Sara is currently pursuing her Masters in Education from Harvard University.
